Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Foxlit mobile application ("Foxlit," "the App," "we," "us") handles information when you use it. Foxlit is designed to store your reading data locally on your own device, and does not require an account to use.

Information We Do Not Collect

Foxlit does not collect, and has no ability to access:

Information Stored on Your Device

To provide its core features, Foxlit stores the following information locally in a database on your device only. This data is never transmitted to us, and we have no access to it:

This data remains on your device and is deleted if you uninstall the App. Foxlit has no server of its own, so this information is never uploaded, backed up to us, or shared with any third party by us.

Daily Reminder Notifications

If you choose to set a daily reading reminder, Foxlit schedules a local notification directly on your device using your device's operating system. This does not involve sending any data to us or to any third party.

Third-Party Services

Foxlit uses the following third-party services to provide specific features:

Google Books API

When you search for a book to attach to a reading session or bookmark, your search text is sent to Google's Books API to retrieve matching titles, authors, and cover images. This search happens only when you actively use the search feature. Please review Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google handles this data.

Google Play Billing

Foxlit offers a one-time, optional in-app purchase to unlock additional features (such as the Books and Bookmarks screens). This purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. Foxlit does not receive, store, or process your payment details — that information is handled directly by Google. Please review Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Play Terms of Service for details.

Children's Privacy

Foxlit is not directed at children under 13. Since Foxlit does not collect personal information from any user, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or the applicable minimum age in your region.

Device Timezone

Foxlit reads your device's configured timezone setting (for example, "America/Los_Angeles") in order to schedule your daily reading reminder at the correct local time. This is the same setting your device uses to display the correct clock time, and does not involve GPS or any other form of location tracking. This timezone information stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

Data Deletion

Because all of your data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time directly within the App's Settings screen, by clearing the App's data in your device settings, or by uninstalling Foxlit. There is no account or server-side data for us to delete on your behalf, as we never receive or store your reading data in the first place.

Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this same page with an updated effective date.
